Necromancy and Demonaltry: What it is and What it ISN'T!

Necromancy is a word that has been dragged through centuries of fear, suppression, and now, misuse. Once regarded as a serious and often dangerous form of magickal practice, it has been reduced in modern circles to an aesthetic, a buzzword, or worse, a misunderstood label attached to any spiritual work involving the dead. As someone who actively practices necromancy and rarely shares this publicly, I’ve watched with growing discomfort as the true meaning of this work has been diluted, romanticized, and commodified by trends and superficial interpretations. Many of it's self proclaimed practitioners attempting to replace old tools with comfort visuals to keep their spaces safe. ( think: blood makes them squeamish and bones are 3D printed ) In contemporary Western magick communities, particularly those influenced by TikTok spirituality, Wicca, and New Age frameworks, necromancy has become shorthand for ancestor veneration, spirit communication, or shadow work. While these practices...

Herbs for My Familiars: 10 Safe Plants for Cats & Dogs

My animals aren’t just pets. They’re my familiars . We’re spiritually and energetically bonded in a way I can’t fully describe. Dennis, my classic orange cat, is my shadow. He mimics my every move. Whether I’m doing yoga or getting crafty, he’s there. And Björn , my service dog, isn’t just ADA-recognized. He’s my fiercest guardian, confidant, and grounding force. Because they mean everything to me, I extend the same herbal-based lifestyle I live to their care. It would be deeply hypocritical to prioritize clean, plant-based wellness for myself while serving them processed junk. So my golden rule still applies when it comes to animal wellness: ✨ “If It’s in a Capsule, It’s CRAP!” ✨ I source herbs specifically for them from my Apothecary. Dennis' favorite part of the day? What I lovingly call “Kitty Crack Time.” He goes wild for Valerian, even more than catnip. Björn enjoys a sprinkle of Ashwagandha, Garlic, and Turmeric in his meals. Their well-being is magickal, inten...

Connecting to The Dark Self: My Positive Experience with Demonolatry

My Altar   The last few weeks have been profoundly ritual-heavy for me. I spend a lot of time at my altar daily. Even with everything else on my plate, goals in family, business, health, and life in general, ritual remains my anchor. I remain deeply invested in my spiritual path, especially the entities and deities I work with regularly. Of all the spirits I hold close, my favorite has always been Asmoday, or Asmodeus. Many people know Asmodeus as the demon of lust, but that’s such a limited and shallow understanding. He is far more than that. To me, he is the embodiment of strength, manifestation, and prosperity. He represents the powerful potential to overcome adversity, to rise when everything falls apart, and to achieve greatness even in the bleakest circumstances. Asmodeus has been known to help people rise from addiction, navigate grief, and face soul-shattering loss. And yes, I know in today’s overly sanitized, fluffified version of spiritualism, there’s judgment and fear s...

Christians, You’re Practicing Witchcraft and Don’t Even Know It!

I know it's uncomfortable to hear, but Christianity as we know it is deeply rooted in Pagan and Magickal traditions. Many rituals and celebrations considered 'Christian' today have origins in ancient Witchcraft, nature worship, and seasonal rites. This doesn’t diminish your faith — but it does mean you might be practicing more Magick than you think. Here are 10 everyday rituals and traditions that are actually Witchcraft in disguise: 1. Blowing Out Birthday Candles (Wish Magick) This tradition traces back to ancient Greece, where people made cakes for Artemis and lit candles to mimic the glowing moon. The smoke carried prayers to the gods. In Germanic cultures, birthday candles were kept burning all day for protection, and wishes were made in secrecy to give them more power. According to The Pagan Book of Days by Nigel Pennick, this practice reflects ancient spellcraft principles of intention, elemental fire, and breath as a magickal carrier—making it a classic exampl...

The Trad Witch Kitchen: Easy Banana Blueberry Bread - There is Magick in Everything We Do.

The Trad Witch Kitchen: Easy Banana Blueberry Bread Welcome back to The Trad Witch Kitchen ! I created this series because I truly believe that every aspect of our life is ritual and Magick . Our Spirituality doesn’t begin and end at the altar. When we live each moment with intention—whether we’re sweeping the floor, tending the garden, or baking bread—we align ourselves with abundance. Whether you work closely with Spirits, honor Deities, or simply dabble in Magick, remember this: you manifest through action and the subconscious. A clean home, a nourished body, a lovingly prepared meal—these are all sacred acts. For me, baking is a form of meditation. It centers me. There’s something so deeply fulfilling about making delicious food from ingredients I’ve grown myself or sourced ethically. And when I leave offerings to the house Spirits, Entities, or even Demons I find they carry even more power when they’re made with my own two hands—from herbs I’ve gathered or bread I’ve baked. ...
