As the World Burns: Now is the time to cut many ties.

I looked up at the sky this morning to see a crescent moon aligned with Venus. The universe often reminds us that there is something out there so much bigger than us.

There's a lot of dark things happening in the world. Many people are suggesting the end of times, but I don't think that's what this is. Every part of my conscious and spiritual self is telling me something big is about to happen. A rebirth, a cleansing in each of our lives that will allow us to emerge on the other side plentiful and blessed. If you have been feeling a heavy weight, it should lift soon. And we do not need a palm reader to tell us that.

I have personally been weighed down by a lack of spiritual ambition that I usually have. I have admittedly let my gifts sit unopened while I focus on the energy that is pulling me into a darkness that is not meant for me. The general plane I exist in is already a deep and dark path by my own choosing. I perform, prophesize, and manifest much better amongst the spirits of the dead and the entities that govern them. However, even for a path of balanced benevolence, and malevolence, there are still spaces that do not serve me well.

I very much despise my ability to feel and absorb the trauma and emotions of most everyone around me. With each psychological dump I experience from another person, I lose a small fragment of my own being. Because of this, I have found myself creating larger and thicker barriers between myself and the outside world. I'm limiting my mental and emotional currency only to those who play a significant role in my life, while effectively disconnecting from fairweathers and emotional vampires.
It is possible you are feeling this, too. Combine all of the abhorrence in the world right now with the ever-thinning veil between us and the spirit world; it is time to begin to cut away at the pieces of ourselves and our circles that no longer serve us. It is not selfish to protect yourself, especially now.

I personally will be performing small rituals daily as we approach the end of October, strengthening my ancestral bonds as well as my connection to the entities and spirits I communicate with often. And I humbly ask that you sit with yourself and begin the work, too. Now is the time to elevate because the odds of drowning are more probable than they have ever been before.

Be Blessed,

Dena

Rewriting the Dark: Hekate in the Age of Comfort | From Blood to Bouquets: Hekate's Image in Modern Witchcraft

Recently, I mentioned a Facebook group post I had come across in which a young “witch” was expressing her concern for her friend using naughty baneful Magick. And so, naturally, she needed to know how to tattle-tale to the great Hekate, in hopes this peaceful Deity would punish her for her wicked ways. Come the fuck on. There are many Gods and Goddesses who are systematically being transformed into fluff bunnies. However, poor Hekate seems to be the most utilized victim of this injustice. And she is taking a huge hit in the reputation department to pander to this new wave of “baby witches” who seem to need weighted blankets and someone to hold their hand to simply wake up in the morning. Hekate is not a nature Goddess of safe darkness and theatrical dark romance. The true history of Hekate is far from the sanitized, benevolent image presented by many in contemporary spiritual circles. She was not a gentle guide or maternal protector, but a formidable and feared deity associated...

The Trad Witch Kitchen: Easy Banana Blueberry Bread - There is Magick in Everything We Do.

The Trad Witch Kitchen: Easy Banana Blueberry Bread Welcome back to The Trad Witch Kitchen ! I created this series because I truly believe that every aspect of our life is ritual and Magick . Our Spirituality doesn’t begin and end at the altar. When we live each moment with intention—whether we’re sweeping the floor, tending the garden, or baking bread—we align ourselves with abundance. Whether you work closely with Spirits, honor Deities, or simply dabble in Magick, remember this: you manifest through action and the subconscious. A clean home, a nourished body, a lovingly prepared meal—these are all sacred acts. For me, baking is a form of meditation. It centers me. There’s something so deeply fulfilling about making delicious food from ingredients I’ve grown myself or sourced ethically. And when I leave offerings to the house Spirits, Entities, or even Demons I find they carry even more power when they’re made with my own two hands—from herbs I’ve gathered or bread I’ve baked. ...
